Photography Presentations

I have lost count of lectures delivered on Zoom, but over 100 successful presentations have reached photographic societies across the country. Having served on photographic society committees myself, I understand the challenge of building a lecture programme that truly connects with an audience. Drawing from this verified track record, these presentations are delivered exclusively online, bringing focused, live, and high-quality visual experience directly to your members. Practical Delivery

Practical Delivery Parameters

  • Every lecture is delivered live from a dedicated space utilising broadcast quality green screen backgrounds and a high-speed fibre connection to produce a seamless, stable, and professional presentation.

  • Bookings are warmly welcomed from English-speaking societies, both in the UK and internationally, operating within plus or minus one hour (+/- 1 hour) of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). International audiences have braved the time difference from Australia and Chile.

  • Every booking includes a brief pre-event technical check with your programme secretary to verify video and audio connection stability before your members log in (if you require this).

  • To assist clubs not confident in using Zoom, I can host the event for you and charge only the lowest possible fee to cover a Zoom subscription for the evening.

  • To support society committees, a limited number of short-notice emergency dates are reserved each season to step in during sudden speaker cancellations.

  • Occasional weekend presentations are available.

  • Out of season presentations to fill the "Camera Club Summer Season Gap".

  • Standard Lecture Fee: £85.00

Presentation One: On Dartmoor

This lecture offers a profound, unpolished insight into a thirty-five-year relationship with one of the most unpredictable landscapes in the British Isles. Moving far beyond casual postcard locations, this narrative uncovers the patience, logistics, and deep physical commitment required to capture the raw, silent essence of the moors through changing seasons. It is designed to inspire your members to look deeper at the hidden details within their own local terrains.

Presentation Two: It Is What It Is

An analytical exploration of the photographic medium itself, tracing the evolutionary line from traditional darkroom chemistry to modern digital workflows. This lecture challenges contemporary conventions, encouraging photographers to examine their creative influences, understand their true visual intent, and look past the modern obsession with camera menu settings. It serves as an engaging catalyst for clubs looking to renew their creative momentum.

Audience Reviews

"Brian Northmore treated us to the first airing of his “On Dartmoor” a fascinating and inspiring talk on the moorland landscape. Via Brian’s photographs, we travelled to some of the remoter areas of the moor, as well as more familiar spots. I am sure from your comments that I am not the only one to be inspired to visit the moor as soon as possible after lockdown is lifted. It was refreshing to hear of Brian’s contemplative approach to the landscape, with advice to take the time to allow the compositions and light to come to you, rather than trying to rush things. Look contemplate and look again and enjoy the moment. A great presentation – thanks, Brian”

The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) Regional Review

“Wow, what a brilliant evening you provided for us. Your talk was spot on the money for our club, as we have a wide range of skills and interests represented across our membership. I was inspired to try more monochrome photography as a result - not something I normally consider. Your content and delivery were also appreciated and I heard many positive comments during several discussions after the meeting Thanks again and enjoy your cups of coffee.”
